7 TONNE EXPEDITION EARTHCRUISER – EXP
ACCOMMODATION
Earthcruisers have unique appointments depending on chassis
(General information only)
The 7.5 square metre (80 square feet) interior of a Earthcruiser is well appointed and functional. The light-weight purposely designed home grows 600mm (24 inch) upwards at the push of a button when setting up camp. This allows a large walk-around area within the camper body in stationary mode, and in its lowered position a more aerodynamic shape for the highway and a compact shape for off-road travel.
The effective use of solar panelling, a diesel water heater and other proven technology permits extended travel and makes isolated stays both relaxing and enjoyable.
Access to a Earthcruiser is from the cab or the side door. The interior of this mobile adventure home is cleverly designed using light coloured all fibreglass cabinetry and large windows that make the living area feel spacious and bright. Quality appliances, hot and cold shower, toilet, ergonomic kitchen, plentiful storage and bed make for comfortable living.
ACCOMMODATION
Every Earthcruiser is uniquely appointed depending on its chassis, but all share the same focus on comfort and practicality.
(General information only)
Inside, you’ll find around 7.5 square metres (80 square feet) of well-planned living space. With the push of a button, the roof lifts 600mm (24 inches), creating a generous walk-around area when you’re set up at camp. Lowered, the camper becomes sleek and aerodynamic for highway driving and compact enough for serious off-road travel.
Built-in solar panels, a diesel water heater, and other proven off-grid technologies mean you can travel further and stay longer in complete comfort.
You can step inside either from the cab or through the side door. Once inside, the light-coloured fibreglass cabinetry, big windows, and smart layout make the space feel open and bright. With quality appliances, a hot and cold shower, toilet, ergonomic kitchen, ample storage, and a comfortable bed, an Earthcruiser is a true home on wheels—ready to take you anywhere.
BODY UNIT
Using knowledge from the ocean yachting industry, the engineered designed floor, walls and roof are of a fibreglass composite construction. The laminate schedule of Earthcruiser has been well proven in the field and laboratory, producing a combination of the desired insulation, high stiffness and strength to weight ratio with superior toughness. This light-weight sandwich structure can be subjected to both static and dynamic loads. The result is that Earthcruiser is strong, light weight and has a very low conductivity of heat as well as high insulative properties.
The internal surfaces are curved moulded fibreglass, much as you would expect in a modern cruising yacht. The camper floor is insulated fibreglass and covered in easy to clean linoleum flooring.
Seating and vehicle cabin access is leather or fabric trimmed as standard. The swing out table allows easy movement to one side and access into the vehicle cabin. The table can be easily repositioned to the seat level creating a third sleeping position, converting the dining area to a bunk bed when stationary.
ACCOMMODATION
The sleeping area is wide and comfortable, and can be used whether the roof is raised or lowered. Surrounding windows are fitted with flyscreens to let the breeze in, privacy screens for when you want to shut the world out, and half of them also feature clear screens for added versatility.
In the kitchen, a deep-bowled sink with mixer tap and separate water purifier faucet makes meal prep easy. Overhead, the command centre keeps everything within reach—lighting controls, water and battery gauges, cabin heating, and the solar monitor. A custom-designed upright fridge/freezer rounds out the space, offering both practicality and reliability.
The domed interior roof—similar to a modern passenger aircraft—provides structural strength without adding bulk, while the 600mm (24 inch) vinyl interface creates plenty of headroom and freedom of movement inside the living area.
Earthcruisers also feature an innovative walk-through shower and entryway (mud room) that makes the most of available space. The toilet slides in and out at the touch of a switch, with a cleverly covered toilet roll holder to stay dry while the shower is in use. A fold-down shower curtain keeps the rest of the interior protected.
Alternatively, you can opt for a traditional enclosed shower and toilet, discreetly integrated to double as a bench when not in use.
GEAR STORAGE
Inside, Earthcruiser makes clever use of space with large removable storage drawers. These drawers are designed to be completely functional—no rattles, no shifting—and are fitted with travel locks to stay secure even on rough off-road tracks. The modular polyethylene moulded system is unique to Earthcruiser and built to last.
For bigger items, an optional under-mattress storage compartment provides extra space right where you need it, keeping essentials accessible inside the vehicle rather than only in external lockers.
On the outside, two generous under-bed storage compartments with pass-through access are perfect for long gear like fishing rods or skis. There’s also plenty of room for camp chairs, tables, and other bulky essentials. Both lockers are fitted with switched LED strip lighting and 12V DC power, which can even be controlled from inside the camper. To top it off, the side skirts of the vehicle add two more handy storage areas—one on each side.
WATER
Earthcruiser is equipped with up to 300L (79 Gallon) fresh water. The 12V pump system will allow you to draw water from individual tanks, allowing the use of one tank for cooking etc and the other for showering. Transferring water between tanks is possible, giving maximum control over usage of available water. The plumbing flexibility can pump from a creek or dam into either tank. It is also possible to pump directly from the creek into either the internal or external shower by-passing both holding tanks–an infinity shower!
The purified drinking water will be delivered from any tank via the onboard water purifier through the designated stainless steel drinking fountain.
For travelling to the subzero locations, Earthcruiser can provide fully insulated and warmed water tanks.
WATER PURIFICATION
Clean drinking water is one of the most important considerations when travelling, which is why every Earthcruiser is fitted with the only unit in the world independently certified to meet global EPA Health Standards for microbiological purifiers—protecting against bacteria, cysts, and viruses.
This advanced system delivers safe, great-tasting water in three ways:
Ultrafine micro-straining physically removes Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and other parasites and debris as small as 0.4 microns.
Broad spectrum molecular capture traps organic chemicals, pesticides, solvents, chlorine, and trace elements that can be harmful or carcinogenic—removing toxins as well as bad taste, odour, and colour.
Electrostatic removal uses specially charged surfaces to capture even the tiniest particles and colloids suspended in the water.
Unlike many systems, this purifier prevents bacterial growth inside the cartridge. Built from marine-grade stainless steel with lead-free faucets and ports, it’s the same trusted system used on international aircraft. Each renewable cartridge lasts for up to 4,000 litres—or around two years of use.
Tested and verified by research institutes, health organisations, independent labs, and countless expeditions, this system has earned its reputation in the field. With Earthcruiser, there’s no compromise on water safety.
POWER
With its self-sufficient design, an Earthcruiser can stay parked in your favourite remote spot for up to 10 days without needing extra power. The recessed roof houses two standard 150-watt shatterproof solar panels—sitting flush so there are no edges to snag under branches or awnings. For those who need more, the system can be expanded to five panels, delivering up to 1,000 watts of solar power.
Power is stored in two deep-cycle batteries (with the option for a third), which easily run the 12V off-road fridge/freezer and the low-draw LED lighting system. A 3,000-watt inverter with charger (240V or 110V) provides clean sine wave power—perfect for computers and other sensitive AC devices.
If the batteries drop below the ideal 50% charge, an alarm lets you know. You can then quickly top them up by drawing directly from the vehicle’s alternator. With this system, there’s no need to carry a noisy portable generator.
The chest-high command panel keeps everything within reach, giving you complete oversight of your onboard power system, including:
Water level indicators
House and vehicle battery levels
Charge and discharge status of house batteries
Remaining capacity (in amp hours or percentage)
Solar panel input and historical usage
Alarm systems for battery and water levels
BODY UNIT
The Earthcruiser’s Battery Distribution Cluster and Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) give you full control over your power system. Vehicle and house batteries can be isolated independently, or linked together in an emergency to supply both. For added safety, both systems can also be switched off completely—ideal for shipping, storage, or extra security.
Here’s how it works: when the engine starts, the VSR stays open until the start battery reaches 13.4 volts. At that point, the relay closes and begins charging both the start and house batteries. Once the engine is switched off and the start battery drops below 12.8 volts, the relay opens again, keeping the start and house batteries separate. This setup prevents the start battery from being accidentally drained and also protects sensitive electronics on the house battery from harmful engine spikes.
Unlike many others on the market, every Earthcruiser comes with 240V/110V power as standard. The battery pack delivers plenty of power for essentials like lighting, water pumps, and refrigeration. Any appliances that run on 240V or 110V can be plugged straight into the onboard inverter through the dedicated outlets. Power is automatically replenished either by the roof-mounted solar panels or directly from the vehicle’s alternator
LIGHTING
The Earthcruiser’s lighting system is designed for both function and comfort. Inside, 12V LED lights brighten the cooking, workbench, and seating areas, while two adjustable reading lights sit neatly at the bed head. Around the bed’s interface panel, low-draw LEDs add a soft, ambient glow.
Outside, water-resistant LED floodlights are fitted to each side and the rear. These illuminate the camp area under the right-hand awning, provide light for the external shower on the left, and even make those late-night tyre changes a little easier.
Experience from years of remote international travel has also led us to include discreetly placed interior night lights—perfect for setting up camp without drawing unwanted attention.
For added peace of mind, Earthcruiser is equipped with a ‘panic’ switch that instantly activates all external floodlights. And if you ever need to move quickly, you can be on the road in less than 60 seconds—roof lowered, steps retracted, and engine running—all without stepping outside.
COOKING
Inside every Earthcruiser, cooking is made simple with a smart, diesel-fuelled Webasto cooktop. Drawing fuel directly from the vehicle’s tank, the integrated burner powers a sleek ceramic surface large enough for two pots or saucepans—easy to use and easy to clean.
Food prep is just as convenient, with generous bench space, a deep-bowled sink, and an integrated cutting board. Water is delivered through a stainless steel hot-and-cold tap, or through the dedicated purifier faucet for safe, great-tasting drinking water.
For those who love cooking outdoors, you can add a BBQ for the ultimate camp kitchen experience. The passenger-side storage door even doubles as a handy outdoor table. (BBQ availability varies by camper model.)
BATHROOM
The shower is fitted with a rain-head nozzle, giving you a refreshing experience even when you’re far off the beaten track.
For convenience, the Earthcruiser includes a C402 Thetford cassette chemical toilet—designed for easy use in the bush. It comes with a 19.3-litre waste holding tank that’s simple to clean and features a retractable handle and wheels for effortless transport. An advanced LED display shows the tank levels at a glance, so you always know when it’s time to empty.
FOOD REFRIGERATION
The 12V upright stainless steel fridge/freezer is built for serious off-road travel. Using just 38 amps per 24 hours, it’s one of the most energy-efficient units on the market. Designed to perform even when the vehicle isn’t level, it’s perfectly suited for tropical climates and long journeys.
EXTERIOR APPOINTMENTS
Shade Awning
The electric projection awning extends at the touch of a button and retracts neatly into the roof when not in use—protecting it from damage on tight tracks or low branches.
External Shower & Fillers
On the driver’s side, a lockable door conceals the secondary fuel tank filler, twin water tank fillers, and the external shower with mixer taps. By hiding these fillers, the risk of fuel theft or water contamination is minimised.
Electric Steps
Fully retractable electric steps ensure nothing gets in the way of your vehicle’s ramp-over angle. They can be activated either from inside the camper or from the driver’s seat—so you never have to step outside in bad weather before driving away.
Camper-to-Vehicle Access
Access between the cabin and camper is through flexible bellows, allowing both sections to move independently. Proven in the trucking industry across millions of kilometres, this system is waterproof, easy to use, and still allows the cab to tilt for engine servicing.
Pop-Top Roof
Earthcruiser’s unique pop-top design makes it one of the only full-sized expedition motorhomes that can be containerised for international shipping. Unlike roll-on/roll-off (RO-RO) shipping—which requires vehicles to be empty of personal belongings—containerisation ensures your Earthcruiser and everything inside arrives safely.
For travel, the camper roof sits flush with the cab for improved aerodynamics and fuel economy. The three-layer vinyl wall provides excellent insulation: white on the outside to reflect heat, a black internal membrane to reduce light and temperature transfer, and a white inner layer to keep the cabin comfortable.
Eight zippered, fly-screened windows around the vinyl wall provide ventilation and panoramic 360° views, while integrated speakers connect to the vehicle’s sound system. The roof lifts via four 12V actuators, activated by a switch near the entry door. These actuators also lock the roof in place, creating a secure dust- and water-tight seal. Best of all, it takes just 48 seconds to raise the roof and set up camp.
Underbody Skirts
Completing the package, Earthcruiser features full underbody skirts with lockable compartments for battery access, the main fuel tank, and two additional storage bins.
Earthcruiser is constantly evolving, with ongoing testing and refinements to ensure every vehicle remains at the forefront of expedition travel. Please confirm specifications at the time of ordering.
